“Arch of Time” explores the quiet dialogue between permanence and movement, inspired by coastal rock formations shaped over centuries. The central arch becomes both a natural structure and a symbolic threshold—an opening between past and present, memory and transformation. Created using encaustic and mixed media, the surface is built through layers of molten beeswax, natural pigments, sand, and mineral textures, evoking the slow passage of time embedded in the landscape. The translucent quality of wax allows light to move through the layers, revealing depth and subtle tonal shifts. The turquoise sea, in constant motion, contrasts with the grounded solidity of the arch, suggesting the balance between change and endurance. Organic textures and splashes echo the rhythm of waves and the unpredictability of nature. This work invites stillness and reflection, offering a contemplative space where nature mirrors inner transformation and resilience.
