The work is rooted in a childhood memory of recovery after a burn, when my body was wrapped in fabric soaked in limewater.
I remember the stillness, the scent of lime, and the cracked white wall above me — fragile, yet full of light.
Using encaustic wax, fabric, and lime pigment, I revisit that moment not as pain, but as transformation.
Each layer holds the trace of care and renewal, echoing the silent strength that rebuilds us from within.
